What OFSTED say about messy play....
Despite appearances, messy play can make an enormous contribution to babies’ and young children's cognitive and creative development.
This sort of play is important because its lack of a focus on making or producing a final product leaves the child FREE to explore all sorts of possibilities….
They can NEVER fail!.
Messy play is an important part of early years provision and demonstrates its importance for young children to develop and improve their gross/fine motor skills, co-ordination and concentration.
How to work co-operatively and collaboratively, use all their senses to discover and explore their environment, and develop their imagination, creative thinking and ability to problem solve and experiment with solutions.
